Now in its third year, this cutting-edge conference looks to continue the exploration of psychiatry’s integration into the physical healthcare model. We will explore the integration of psychiatry and treatment of mental illness in medical populations as it applies to health care reform, technology, pharmacology, community health centers, and disaster-related situations. Sponsors have assembled an outstanding group of nationally-known speakers who will address professional practice gaps and advance the participants' competence and effective use of targeted skills.

Coding and Billing Solutions for Psychiatry and
Mental Health Services
In the past, the OPPA has collaborated with the Ohio State Medical Association, to provide information-packed classes designed for new or experienced billing and coding staff, managers and physicians who provide psychiatry and mental health services. Using case studies and examples the classes promote active learning to help participants apply the new information! If you are interested in coding and billing workshops, please contact us directly for the most up-to-date information!
Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Update
Addressing Issues of Critical Importance
In Sept. 2011, the OPPA offered the first of what may become an annual fall conference, designed specifically to meet the needs of Ohio's child and adolescent psychiatrists, as well as other physicians, including pediatricians and family physicians, and other mental health clinicians, who treat children and adolescents.
The 2011 conference focused on the important topics of cyber bullying (a.m. session) and adolescent addiction (p.m. session). Feedback from the meeting was excellent and the OPPA Child and Adolescent Committee is considering plans for 2012. If you have suggestions or would like to be involved (as part of the planning committee or as a speaker), please contact our office directly.
