The Clock is Ticking

April 14, 2003 is the compliance deadline for the Privacy Rule (a federal regulation, mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 to provide standards for the protection of the privacy of individually identifiable health information).

The May/June 2002 issue (Vol. 8 No. 3) of the APA's Psychiatric Practice & Managed Care newsletter provides a good summary of this issue.
