Tamburrino Heads MCO Department

Marijo B. Tamburrino, M.D., is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Tamburrino completed her undergraduate work at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and received her M.D. from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. She is an elected member of the American College of Psychiatrists and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

On the national level, Dr. Tamburrino serves on the American Psychiatric Association Council on Medical Education and Career Development. Dr. Tamburrino is the recipient of the following honors: Hedwig Van Amerigen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women, 1997-98 Class of Fellows, 1998 American Psychiatric Association's Outstanding Achievement in Coalition Building, 1999 Special Recognition Honoree, Welcome Back Award for "inspiring others who are engaged in the struggle with clinical depression," John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC.

She has published 31 scientific papers and has had 63 presentations at national/international scientific meetings.
