Candidate for Secretary
Todd Ivan, M.D.

The last ten years have been some of the most exiting and challenging for psychiatry. New medications and research-proven psychotherapies have expanded the scope of our practice. However, managed care limitations have eroded the doctor-patient relationship. I am convinced that the best tool for restoring our autonomy is participation in the APA and OPA. I have served on OPA Council and on the Ethics and Membership committees of the OPA, and I have seen what organized psychiatry can achieve. As Secretary of the OPA, I will continue to work for the needs of our members and our patients. Thank you for your support and ongoing participation in OPA.

Editor's note: Dr. Karen Jacobs has withdrawn as a candidate for this office.
